Ikebana is the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging.
Create your own art work by gentle guidance of our Ikebana artist and teacher.
Learning Ikebana promotes a better understanding of the Japanese view of nature.
Invest your idea and emotions to your art work and express yourself through flowers.

Flow Chart

  • STEP1

    Ikebana master will explain the basics about Ikebana.

  • STEP2

    Create your art work by using seasonal flowers with gentle guidance.

  • STEP3

    Evaluate and enjoy your flower arrangement artwork.
    We will serve Japanese green tea and Japanese sweets.

  • STEP4

    Take flowers and container with you.


  • All tools including container, scissors and flowers will be provided.

Course Price (tax excluded) / Time
Basic Course ¥9,000 / 60 minutes

※Price is inclusive of tools and materials used in the session.
※Price is inclusive of Japanese Green tea and Japanese sweets.

※If you wish to wear a yukata during the session, please choose your favorite and we will help you to wear it.In that case please come 20 minutes prior your Ikebana lesson. Wearing of Yukata is free of charge.

Lecturer Introduction 

Kouen Yokoi / 横井 紅炎

Both her mother and grandmother were Ikebana artists.
Her grandfather were Noh performer.
She graduated from Musashino Art University.

In 1985 obtained Ikebana teaching license, Sogetsu style.
In 2000 commence an activity as Ikebana teacher.
In 2007 started to perform Ikebana internationally.

Currently she teaches and perform Ikebana mainly in Tokyo and Kanagawa.
She is also active internationally. She holds events of Japanese traditional arts including Ikebana live abroad, mainly in Palau and Vietnam.
